After two years of teaching practice in pop music, we gradually found that traditional teaching material was unfit when teaching pop music majors the course of keyboard (different from the course of piano in other majors). Therefore we supplemented some sections as performing fundamentals, works of modern pop piano in teaching materials and training and practice of accompaniment in teaching practice, group class and individual class in teaching methods, which laid a solid foundation of the book we compiled.
There are 4 volumes of the pop music piano teaching material for 4 semesters of 2 academic years, with 15 lessons in each semester. Each volume covers etude, accompaniment skill practice, piano for four hands and trial playing. Supplementary songs can be used in examinations.
